University Christian Outreach Lansing Blog:
Here are some Meditations that you could use during the 40 days of the Lenten season. I hope this season is a time of drawing near to the Lord - may you experience His presence!
I'll see you tonight in the Union (4th floor Tower room, as usual) from 7:30-9pm for our fourth study of the Vision and the Vow. We're doing section four entitled, "Covenant: Sacrifice Fuels the Fire" including pages 115-143. Expect a fun quiz, something to do with candy, and some singing.
-Next Wednesday, Oct 31 - No UCO meeting
-Wednesday, Nov 7 - Prayer Meeting out at the Price of Life Tent (on MSU campus)
Sorry I've gotten behind on posting the notes for our VV discussions...
We've been studying "The Vision and the Vow" by Pete Grieg [on amazon]. This session looks at Grace and includes some compelling images of the "Bad, Broken, and Boring" - all three "B" words with answers from God's grace.
I was very moved while preparing this material - particularly moved by the all-surpassing grace and mercy of God while watching/listening to the Passion/Majesty video. I was also moved by prompting by the Spirit to use as an example our beloved and late Bob Sweet. He was a man whose life was much less than "Boring" because it was lived in Christ.
Tomato War is a fruit-slinging capture-the-flag fight in the dark woods. Winner takes all.
Bonfire and BBQ wieners will follow.
Are you man enough? Do you want to represent the MSU team?
Will you carry victory away from wolverines?
Good. I thought so.
You and your dudes should bring:
-dark clothes that you can get dirty and ripped
-readiness to sign the accident waiver (really, this is standard for dangerous events like this)
-courage and a good attitude
