For everyone who wasn't able to attend the UCO Prayer Meeting this week, we recorded Ed Conlin's talk so that you could hear it. Whether you heard Ed's talk or not, I would encourage all of you to listen to it. Ed spoke on Job 19:23-27:
Oh that my words were inscribed, that they were written on a scroll, that they were inscribed with an iron in rock or engraved in lead forever! For I know that my Redeemer lives, and in the end he shall stand upon the earth. I myself will see him with my own eyes -- I and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Ed issued a pretty strong challenge to all of us to become more like Jesus, that people would see their Redeemer in us by the way we live and love others. I think its worth spending some time prayerfully reflecting on how we can be more like Jesus, in what specific areas do we need to experience greater conversion? It says in 1 Cor 15:49 "Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven." Let's pray that with the help of the Holy Spirit, this would become reality, and we would be transformed more and more into Christ's image.
